These terms govern your use of the GoFilm HK iOS app ("the app").

What the app does

GoFilm HK helps you find what films are showing at cinemas in Hong Kong. It pulls listings from cinema websites and the TMDB film database and presents them in one place. You can also sign in (optional) to sync saved cinemas and watchlists across devices and to set up alerts for films and showtimes.

What we don't promise

GoFilm HK is provided as-is. We make our best effort to keep showtime data accurate, but cinemas change schedules without notice, our scrapers can have bugs, and data can be stale. Always confirm showtimes with the cinema before travelling.

We don't sell tickets. When you tap a booking link, you leave the app and complete the booking on the cinema's own website. We're not responsible for issues with the cinema's website, the booking process, the screening, or any refunds.

Alerts and the weekly digest are sent on a best-effort basis. We don't guarantee timely delivery and you shouldn't rely on them for time-critical decisions.

We don't guarantee the app will be available at any particular time. We may change features, update the app, or discontinue it entirely.

Your account

Accounts are optional. If you create one:

• You're responsible for keeping your sign-in email secure. Anyone with access to your email can request a sign-in code and access your account.
• You can sign out of all devices, delete your account, or download your data at any time via the in-app Account screen.
• If you sign in with Apple, the Apple credential is what gives you access — we don't store an Apple password or have any way to recover access if you lose your Apple ID.

Acceptable use

Use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. Don't:

• Attempt to access our servers in ways the app doesn't normally support
• Scrape, republish, or resell our data
• Reverse-engineer the app to circumvent technical restrictions
• Use the app to send spam, abuse, or anything illegal
• Create accounts for other people or under names that aren't yours

We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.

Third-party content

Film posters, descriptions, ratings, and similar content come from TMDB, the Hong Kong Film Classification Office (for category ratings such as Cat I / IIA / IIB / III), cinema chains' own websites, and other sources. We display this content for your information. Copyright in that content belongs to its respective owners.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app — including missed showings, incorrect data, the app being unavailable, alerts that don't fire, or any other issue.

Privacy

How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy, available at gofilm-hk.balsham.cloud/privacy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If we make material changes, we'll notify signed-in users by email. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute will be resolved in Hong Kong courts.
